The Amazon

Last week, I had the opportunity to travel to the beautiful nation of Peru to volunteer with an incredible organization doing some amazing things for Christ. The organization is called Global Ventures and they have got to be one of the most effective and efficient ministries for spreading the Gospel I've ever seen.

I don't know where your opinions or beliefs are regarding Christianity and missions work, but this trip completely opened my eyes to what it means to preach the Gospel to every living creature. I've always leaned more towards development and discipleship, and although I still believe whole-heartedly that we should work on those things if God has given us the chance and opportunity to, I much more clearly understand that sometimes, we may not have the chance to work with people and disciple them - but that doesn't mean we have a free pass from the commission and calling to preach the Gospel to them.

On this trip we saw 30,000 people pray the prayer of salvation for the first time and not only that, but we witnessed 296 documented miracles. You may think that there's no such thing as miracles or that it's all a "mind over matter" situation, but I personally saw God physically move in hundreds and I witnessed the spiritual birth of thousands.

God is alive and I am honored to have been given this opportunity.

Below are just a few of my favorite images from the trip. If you would like to see the full collection of photos, click here. You'll notice that I'm in one of the photos here and a handful of photos in the full album. That's because my little brother Connor manned the camera a couple of times for me and he really shot some great stuff. Thanks, Connor!
