Last year, I had the honor of shooting some video work for the Barista Throwdown League (@BThrowdown) during one of their competitions here in Lubbock. As a former barista, I've always loved being around coffee and I absolutely love what the BTL is doing to help promote coffee culture and educate more and more people in the area about good coffee.
After my favorite local coffee shop, GoodBrews shut down a year or so ago, I was bummed out about having to find a new place to go . . . but fortunately, Yellow House Coffee (@YellowHouseCoff) was in the making. Yellow House opened their doors a few months ago, and I am proud to call it my new home. As much as I love visiting Palace Coffee (@palacecoffee) in Canyon every time my wife and I visit family in Amarillo, it's nice having a place closer than an hour and a half away.
Anyhow, I've been wanting to check out another BTL competition for a while now so I was definitely excited when Lance, the owner of Yellow House, asked if I would be willing to shoot the competition. Below are a handful of my favorites from the competition. I had a great time shooting it and I had a hard time falling asleep after all of the free lattes. Big congrats to Katie Houlette (@klhoulette) for winning the competition!
